The First Descendant tier list: Who are the best Descendants in the game

The First Descendant is currently in its first season and picking one character from the roster of 16 can be a tedious task.

With so many Descendants to pick from right off the bat, it can be difficult to choose the character that is right for you and will help you have the right impact in the game.

Below is a complete tier list of all the current characters in The First Descendant and how they stack up against each other.

Picking the best Descendants that are right for you will depend on a few things. The most important one is your personal playstyle and the sort of role that you are looking to fill in a team.

However, to understand what fits you best in The First Descendant you will need a good number of hours in the shooter. Once you get used to some of its core gameplay mechanics, you will have a much easier time settling on the type of Descendants that you prefer.

But till you can make that choice, the best Descendants for you will be the S-tier and A-tier picks. These characters are usually quite well-rounded and come with both amazing offensive and defensive capabilities.

The tier list above is classified into two basic groups: Descendants who are downright lethal when it comes to eliminating hordes of enemies in missions, and Descendants that deal a lot of boss damage and are tailored for Void Intercept battles.

Bunny

Bunny is the poster child of the shooter and is one of the more popular characters that many players seem to be enjoying today. She has a very fun playstyle that relies on mobility and constantly strutting about the battlefield to build up energy.

You then release the energy on that enemy dealing a massive amount of burst damage. Bunny comes with a lot of AoE potential as well and is one of the best characters for farming mobs.

If you are looking for a fast-paced, glass cannon playstyle then Bunny will be the perfect Descendant for you.

Valby

Valby is one of the best DoT Descendants at the moment. She has a lot of AoE attacks up her sleeve and can take out groups of enemies quite easily.

Valby The First Descendant

Valby also comes with a fair bit of mobility skills one of which will let her make a puddle and teleport to it. Another skill will turn her entire body to water gaining more armor and running speed while having the ability to inflict ice damage on enemies that she runs into.

However, without the right team composition, Valby might struggle a bit against bosses. While she comes with a lot of AoE damage, her single-target burst can seem lacking. So in a party, she takes up the role of a farmer who clears out mobs so that the rest of the team can focus on the boss and the main objective.

Gley

Gley is one of the most broken Descendants in The First Descendant and is preferred when heading into Void Intercept battles. She’s one of the only Descendants who has and infinite ammo build, which makes her so lethal.

What makes this fun is that the infinite ammo works with launchers too, so not only can you dish out a tonne of damage on the bosses, but also on smaller enemies.

To trigger this, make sure you trigger the Frenzied skill along with Increased Sensory and Massacre. This will trigger the Maximum Lethality buff and will give your weapons infinite ammo for a short time.

Hailey

Hailey is the newest Descendant on the block, and is tailored to deal with big targets. Armed with a sniper rifle, she can take down her enemies from a distance and uses cold to her advantage.

How to get Hailey in The First Descendant

Although not that great at clearing groups of enemies, she’s absolutely lethal against Void Intercept bosses, but with the right build.

To make the most with this character, make sure to keep Cold Fury active at all times, because that’ll ensure you land crit shots with every hit. Not just that, make sure her passive is active because you’ll deal more damage the farther you are from the enemy.

To know if the passive is active, just look at her passive icon on the skill bar. As long as the icon is blue, the passive will be active, and if it’s inactive, the icon will be red.

That aside, make sure to use Cryo Rounds along with Zenith for bonus damage. Not only does it slow down the enemy, but it’ll also make them take 50% additional damage. Also, try to trigger Cryo Rounds when Zenith has passed 50% of its active time to reduce its cooldown significantly.

Lepic

Lepic is one of the first three Descendants that you get to choose when you start your venture in The First Descendant.

Lepic The First Descendant

Although he doesn’t seem like much, this character is best suited for Void Intercept battles primarily because of the skills that he brings to the table. If you’re looking to max out the damage that you dish out on bosses, make sure to use his skills properly.

His core playstyle revolves around using his Overclock ability, because it increases the damage dealt by the other abilities that he possesses, by inflicting additional burn damage.

So, whenever you’re tossing a grenade or using the Overkill ability, make sure to trigger Overclock before using them. Also, make sure to roll when you trigger the Overkill ability. This ability has a lengthy animation which you can cancel by rolling the moment you trigger it.
