The First Descendant features a number of weapons to choose (and enhance) from. Of these, the Ultimate Weapons are the rarest and most desirable of the bunch – thanks to both their utility and Unique Abilities.

Upgrading unique abilities in The First Descendant
To upgrade unique abilities in The First Descendant, you must have progressed through a certain section of the game’s campaign as a prerequisite. Additionally, you will also be required to own an Ultimate weapon of choice before proceeding with the steps below:
- Once within the main lobby, make your way to a Workbench/Repair Station.
- Click on the ‘Use’ option.
- Select the ‘Enhance Unique Ability’ option within the Workbench menu.
- Select a weapon of choice with a Unique Ability.
- Fuse another duplicate of the same weapon to proceed.
- Pay the requisite Gold fee for each enhancement and confirm.
Following the steps above should net you a greatly enhanced weapon overall, and is usually well worth the effort. Keep in mind that each subsequent upgrade will cost more Gold than the previous enhancement. Additionally, each Ultimate Weapon can be enhanced this way up to a maximum of four times – capping its Proficiency up to Level 40.
How to craft Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant
To craft Ultimate Weapons, you must visit the NPC known as Anais within the region of Albion. Simply deposit a certain number of rare, unique materials to her and begin the crafting process.
You can interact with Anais after progressing through a part of the game’s campaign.
These mats can be acquired either by crafting them – or via progressing through certain missions.
