Skooma is an illegal substance that you will come across in all The Elder Scrolls games, and it’s no different in Oblivion Remastered either, but with varying effects.
Despite it being illegal, some quests require you to use Skooma, either by consuming it or by handing it to an NPC as quest-related currency.
Unlike Skyrim, Skooma does have quite an impact on your character in Oblivion Remastered, which makes it a handy item for you to hold on to.
Where to find Skooma in Oblivion Remastered
There are two ways to get Skooma in Oblivion Remastered:
- You can loot this substance from different houses and dungeons across Cyrodiil.
- Purchase it from certain vendors.
Where to loot Skooma from
It’s hard to pinpoint where you’ll find Skooma in Oblivion Remastered, especially when it comes to looting. So be sure to scan every single nook and cranny for this object.
During our playthrough, we found Skooma at these two places:
- Lorkmir’s House: You’ll get to this place during the Dark Brotherhood questline. You should find two bottles on the main table.
- Skooma Den: This structure is beside the chapel in Bravil. As per the name, this place is literally crawling with the substance. You’ll find it on almost every table and can pickpocket it off individuals too.
Where to buy Skooma from
So far, we’ve found two vendors who sell Skooma:
- Nordinor: You’ll find this vendor next to Silverhome in Bravil. There’s an alley beside the northern gate. You’ll find him here at midnight.
- Shady Sam: You’ll find him near the Elven Garden District, but outside the city at night.
In Oblivion Remastered, Skooma costs around 120 Gold, so make sure you have enough gold on you if you’re looking to purchase it in bulk.
What does Skooma do in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered
It has the following effects:
- Drain Agility on Self: 60 points
- Damage Intelligence on Self: 2 points
- Fortify Strength on Self: 60 points
- Fortify Speed on Self: 60 points
Since it’s illegal, even if you buy Skooma from a vendor, if you’re caught after a crime, it’ll be taken away from you if you’re arrested. So, you can always use the console command player.additem 0004E0A9 1 if you want to get your hands on this item quickly. But remember, using a console command can lock you out of trophies and achievements.
