Wuthering Waves: How to choose the best server for you

Picking the right server is crucial in Wuthering Waves. From giving you lower latency numbers to helping you play with your friends in crossplay, there is a lot that a server determines in the RPG.

However, making the right decision is easier said than done. There are many in the community who are still struggling and have yet to decide on which region they should be sticking with.

Below is a list of some of the things that you should keep in mind when looking to pick the right server in Wuthering Waves.

How to choose the best server in Wuthering Waves

Here are some points that can help you make a more informed decision when picking a server in Wuthering Waves:

1) Pick the server that is nearest to your region

As a rule of thumb, you should always look for the server that is closest to your region. There are currently five servers to pick from in the game:

  • Asia
  • America
  • Europe
  • SEA (Southeast Asia)
  • HMT (Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan)

If you live somewhere in Argentina, Mexico, or Canada then the best server for you will be America. If you are in India, the Philippines, Singapore, or Malaysia, then pick the SEA server.

Those living in the Oceanic region like Australia and New Zealand will need to choose either SEA or America.

Hopefully, Kuro Games will be adding new servers in the near future.

2) See where your friends are playing

While Wuthering Wavs does feature cross-platform, crossplay, and cross-save, the systems are a bit limited. You will only be able to carry over saves across devices if you are playing on the same server. Consequently, you will only be able to play with your friends in crossplay if they are on the same server as you.

So if you are keen on enjoying the open-world RPG with a friend, then you will need to pick the same server as they do.

If you have already made a significant amount of progress in one server and then switched to another, the save will not carry over. Wuthering Waves will force you to start a new game.

3) Change servers before making any real progress

Changing Server Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves will allow you to change your servers from the main menu screen. While that will force you into starting the game all over again, it’s a great feature that you can try, to see which server fits your region the best.

So don’t make much progress in the game if you are unsure of the server you are on. Head back to the main menu and under the server section change it.

Keep trying new servers and find the one that is giving you the least amount of lag, latency, and rubberband issues.

Additionally, if you have pre-registered for the game, do not redeem the rewards if you are still picking a server. The reward will directly go to the server that you have made progress in and will not transfer.

Nuances of changing servers in Wuthering Waves

Apart from not having your progression carry over, there is another thing that you will need to keep in mind when changing servers in Wuthering Waves. Each server has a different reset time, so you will have to keep constant track of when the daily quests and rewards are refreshing.
