Wuthering Waves Photos of Jinzhou quest guide

Photos of Jinzhou is one of the many side quests that you will get to complete in Wuthering Waves. It’s one of the missions you might want to complete to increase your Union Level, and it’s a quest that you get pretty early on in the narrative.

The mission is given to you by Bowen, an old man you encounter at the top of a building. He will give you a camera and ask you to take three pictures of Jinzhou from particular angles.

While it might seem like a tiresome quest to complete, you might want to get it over with for the Shell Credits and the Union EXP that it provides.

To start the quest, you will first need to complete the Ominous Star main quest which will then make this mission appear. The quest is to help you get to Union level 14 and start the Clashing Blades narrative.

Once the quest starts, follow the marker till you reach the top of a building where a crowd is staring at an old man. The old man is named Bowen and after interacting with him, you will get a camera and the NPC will task you with clicking photos of Jinzhou from three different places.

How to use the camera in Wuthering Waves Photos of Jinzhou

You will not be able to use the game’s built-in photo mode feature to complete Photos of Jinzhou. You will need to specifically use the camera Bowen gave you. To do that:

  • Equip the camera by holding the Tab key on the keyboard, or opening the menu wheel using the directional buttons on a controller.
  • Once equipped, you will be able to use the camera by pressing T on the keyboard or holding L1 and tapping Triangle on the controller.
  • You will be able to zoom in and zoom out using either the mouse wheel or the  L2 (LB) and R2 (RB) buttons.

If you are moving while taking a photo or the camera is not able to capture the correct image for the quest you will get the “You cannot take photo in current state” message. So stop moving, zoom in and out, or change your angle to make the error go away.

Make your way to the roof of the building where you met Bowen. Then head to the edge of the room and take out the camera to focus on Huabiao Square.

Keep changing the angles and your position till the frames around the image turn green. Once it does, click the capture icon and make your way back to Bowen to proceed to the next stage of the quest.

Make your way to the next quest marker which is located to the southeast of Jinzhou. You will find Bowen there, stand a bit behind him till you can see three cats infront of you. Two will be sitting on the grass while one will be on a cliff.

Angle the camera towards them till the frames go green. Then click the photo and head back to Bowen.

For the final picture, make your way to the top of a bridge which is near Bowen. Stand on the edge infront of the NPC and then snap a photo which will contain him and his family behind him.

Getting the right picture for the third part of the quest can be a bit tricky. Try different angles and zoom out a bit so that you are able to capture the entire family on the bridge.

Rewards for completing the Photos of Jinzhou in Wuthering Waves

Once you have successfully provided Bowen with the three photos you will get the following rewards:

  • 150x Union EXP
  • 20x Astrite
  • 3x Medium Energy Capsules
  • 12,000x Shell Credits

The rewards are worth the effort as these are very valuable resources to get your hands on in the early game of Kuro Games‘ RPG.
