The best Tristana build and item options let her be one of the best carries in League of Legends Season 14. She is versatile enough to be flexed as a Bot or Solo Laner, and she scales quite well into the Late Game.
Tristana is one of the more aggressive ADCs in LoL. She comes with a lot of Early Game priority and she can often start generating Gold and XP advantages on her own.
However, she does have a weak Mid Game and she can start to fall behind if she is not given enough resources. In the Late Game she starts to scale again and be more effective she gets to out-range most other carries.
Tristana has an all-in playstyle which can be a bit hard to master. But she is quite easy to pick and can be a rewarding champion to climb the Rank ladder with.

Tristana Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- Tristana is a versatile ADC and she can be flexed as both a Bot and Solo Laner in Riot’s MOBA. This allows her to fit into a variety of team compositions where she can either choose to play for teamfights or be a side lane threat. This adds a fair bit of flexibility to how your team can build a composition around her.
- Tristana is one of the more mobile ADCs in League of Legends. Her Rocket Jump makes it very difficult for the enemy to lock her down and she will also be able to use it to close the gap between an enemy. As Rocket Jump resets after every kill, assist, or full Satchel explosion, she will be able to constantly hop about and kite around a teamfight.
- The Yordle has a great Early and Late Game. She has a very aggressive playstyle in the laning phase which will allow you to gain early advantages in the form of XP and Gold. She melts towers and can very easily secure plates. In the Late Game, Tristana’s passive lets her outrange most carries, and she can poke the enemy from half a screen away.
Cons:
- Tristana is very bad at freezing the wave. Her E’s passive keeps clearing the wave and it’s impossible to manipulate the lane state with her. She constantly shoves the wave into the tower, leaving her open to ganks from the enemy Jungler. As Tristana is squishy, she can be very easily taken down.
- While easy to pick up, Tristana can be hard to master because of her all-in playstyle. Although she can chip away at the enemy frontline from a distance, to make the most of her kit, you will often need to Rocket Jump in and gain access to the backline. This might leave her vulnerable to a counter-engage if she doesn’t get a reset on her jump.
- Tistana has a very weak Mid Game, and she can be irrelevant in a skirmish if she is behind on Gold and experience. Hale of Blades makes her strong early, while her passive makes her strong late. The Mid Game is a grey area for her, as she will be out DPS-ed by most other carries at this stage.
How to play Tristana: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14

Early Game:
- As Tristana has a very strong Early game your goal in the laning phase will be to start accumulating as much Gold and XP advantages as possible. As a Solo Laner or a Bot Laner, push the wave in, and keep chipping away at the towers. Take down the Tower Plates and start racking up the Gol.
- Tristana has a lot of kill pressure in the laning phase. Her Explosive Charge does a surprising amount of damage when you can start it up. Her W lets her follow up on kills and if you have an aggressive Support, you will be able to get early kills or blow the enemy’s Summoner Spells.
- Make sure you put up some Wards around your lane to spot the enemy Jungler’s pathing. It’s very easy to overextend with Tristana and you do not want to be caught pushing too far down the lane with your W and Flash down. She is very squishy and can be taken out immediately.
Mid Game:
- Depending on the amount of lead you have acquired, Tristana can start to struggle in the Mid Game. If you are behind or even on Gold and XP at this point, you will not have a good time in teamfights. So you will have to stay behind your frontline and only go in aggressively when you know that you will get a reset.
- If you are playing as a Bot Laner, rotate to the Mid Lane and look to gain priority there. Continue to chip at the tower to make it easier for the rest of your team to contest other objectives. As a Solo Laner you will need to rotate to the side lanes and look to threaten tower damage there. Tristana has amazing wave clear and tower damage, hence she will often force the enemy to react to her push.
- Tristana has good neutral objective damage as well. Once some of the core items of Tristana’s best build are done, she will be able to melt the Drake, the Herald, and the Baron. So if you are seeing your team posturing around the neutral objectives, then don’t hesitate to help them out.
Late Game:
- At this stage of the game, Tristana will start out-ranging most carries in League of Legends. Once Tristana’s best build options are done, she will be able to melt the enemy frontline and keep getting resets to get onto the backline. So don’t be afraid to take fights.
- Tristana has enough burst in the Late Game to be played as an assassin. You can use her E+W+AA+R combo to get on the enemy carries, immediately burst them down and then Rocket Jump out. However, only go for this play when you know that the enemy team have already exhausted their CC options.
- Keep threatening neutral objectives. Tristana is great at taking down the Baron and Elder Drake. So you can bait the enemy to engage onto your team by chipping out the Neutral Objectives. Tristana will have enough AA range at level 18 to make it difficult for the enemy to contest the Baron or the Drake.
