All iOS 18 features and every iPhone set to recieve it

The iOS 18 update is set to launch for a select range of iPhones on September 16, 2024 – spanning multiple regions. This much awaited update to iOS 17 brings with it many new features, the most intriguing of which is Apple Intelligence, an AI-powered model that aims to transform the way you use your devices.

Not all devices will receive the update though, with an unfortunate number of eligible devices skipping the Apple Intelligence feature set, which can be attributed to hardware limitations.

  • iPhone XS/XS Max
  • iPhone 11 Pro/11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 12 Pro/12 Pro Max

  • iPhone 13 mini
  • iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max

Any iPhone newer than the SE 3 is eligible to receive the update. Apple Intelligence features are, however, absent on models with less than 8 gigabytes of RAM and an A17 Pro chip. iPhone 16 models come with the newest version right out of the box.

  • Apple Intelligence: Perhaps the most standout feature of this particular update, Apple Intelligence brings with it a ton of features, including AI-powered tools such as Rewrite and Genmoji – among others.
  • Updates to the Notes, Photos, Mail, Phone and Messages apps.
  • New Siri model with a focus on improved usability.
  • Dark Mode for the Home Screen, with accompanying tinted icons and more flexible customization – with features such as hidden apps, and larger icons.
  • New, redesigned Control Center with Action Button support (on supported models).
  • Updates to Safari.
  • A new Passwords app to store and access all your saved iCloud passwords from one place.
  • A new ‘Game Mode’ performance setting for Games.
