Best Brighter Shores PC settings

Brighter Shores, the hotly anticipated MMO from Andrew Gower, is finally out in early access for PCs. The game features a lot of the charm of old school Runescape, bringing with it delightfully picturesque visuals and charming RPG mechanics.

Thankfully, the game is not exactly very demanding in terms of hardware requirements, mandating very low system requirements. Regardless, a set of ‘optimized’ PC settings can be found listed below, for ensuring a smooth 60 frames per second.

Optimized settings for Brighter Shores on PC

Brighter Shores PC settings

Graphics Settings

  • Ambient Occlusion: Enabled
  • Shadows: Enabled
  • Adjacent Chunks: Enabled
  • Decorative Particles: Enabled
  • MSAA: 2x

Audio Settings

  • Music: 9
  • SFX: 10
  • 3rd party SFX: 8
  • Ambience: 9
  • UI: 10

You can fine tune these Audio profiles to your personal preference.

It is also possible to toggle between Fullscreen and Windowed using the button combination mentioned within the user interface (Command + F for Macs).

Overall, the game is well optimized and exceptionally friendly on low end PC hardware. I was able to get it running on an ultrawide resolution (3440×1440) using an Intel Iris Plus iGPU (on a Macbook Pro 2020) with very good results.

The game also supports ultrawide resolutions and scaling, but seemingly lacks any sort of resolution slider in its current build.

Those with much lower end PCs might find it better to disable Shadows and Ambient Occlusion for a dramatic boost to framerates – at the cost of visual fidelity.

Disabling the anti-aliasing entirely can also help.
