Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors Origins is a proud return to form for the Dynasty Warriors franchise, boasting both updated gameplay and visuals. The game runs on an in-house engine, which does seem to scale rather well with low end PC hardware.
As such, Dynasty Warriors Origins is surprisingly playable on the Steam Deck, provided you adjust your expectations accordingly and dial back the settings. You can find a full list of these settings in the section below.

- Characters: Normal, Many might be too much for the Steam Deck CPU to handle
Upscaling
- AMD FSR 3: Balanced; can be dropped to Performance for a slight boost in FPS
- AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation: Disabled for more image clarity while in motion
- Sharpness: 0.20
Other options such as Intel XeSS and DLSS should be left untouched.
Steam Deck specific settings
- Frame Rate Limit: 60; can be capped to 40 for a more consistent experience
- TDP: 15 W
- Battery Drain: 25-20 W; 1-2 hours of gameplay at most – expect double the battery life if you possess a Steam Deck OLED unit
Expect somewhere between 40 to 50 FPS during heavy combat. Cutscenes and lighter sections should generally hit 60 FPS quite easily though.
