How to improve performance in Throne and Liberty

The following in-game settings should be tweaked in order to ensure better performance in Throne and Liberty:
- FSR/DLSS Upscaling: Make sure to always keep this option enabled. Choose either the ‘Performance’ or ‘Ultra Performance’ preset when you launch the game. Do keep in mind that visuals are adversely affected when using the Ultra Performance preset.
- Set your in-game resolution to native: It is recommended to set the game’s resolution to your display’s native resolution and aspect ratio – in order to avoid blurry HUD elements. Internal resolution can however, be adjusted using FSR/DLSS.
- Disable Hair Strands: Hair strands can improve the visual complexity of in-game hair on characters, but is quite taxing on mid-range systems. As such it is advised to keep the setting disabled entirely, especially since the improvement is minimal at best.
- Optimize Large Scale Combat: Enabling this setting can improve performance, especially in large scale battles.
- Reduce overall visual fidelity: Try lowering your visual quality to Medium or Low in order to boost frame rates. This is especially recommended if you possess a less than ideal PC config.
- Character Count: Reducing character count will lessen the load on your CPU – by lowering the number of characters rendered at a given time. Those with relatively modern, mid range CPUs should fare fine though.
As always, update your GPU drivers before launching the game in order to avoid driver-related performance issues. It is also advised to use a fast, NVMe based SSD to install (and play) the game from.
It is also recommended to leave most background applications disabled when playing Throne and Liberty, especially if you do not have enough system RAM.
