Windows does not have the best track record out there when it comes to appealing to consumers, especially in recent times, with rumors of a subscription-based operating system. A lot of the current world relies on Microsoft’s OS, so the prospects would have been extremely unfavorable.
A recent report from Tech4Gamers seems to be claiming that Windows will fully push AI with a subscription model OS. Thankfully, the news seems to have been debunked as of now by trusted sources, including the Windows Latest News account on Twitter/X.
Windows does not have any upcoming OS change under wraps; that’s right around the corner. However, sources such as Windows Central have stated previously that Microsoft is gearing up for the next big update titled Windows 11 26H2
Microsoft has been trying to shove AI down everyone’s throats
Microsoft has been super adamant about shoving AI utilities down our throats, especially with Windows 11, which a lot of people hate. Recently, this was the reason that got their present operating system the new derogatory tag ‘microslop’ on online platforms.
Microsft spokesperson have addressed this new word showing signs of irritation, compelling people to leave it behind. But the consumers have been doubling down on it more than ever, which led to the word getting banned on the official Copilot Discord server.

It was not too long ago when we found out that Microsoft was looking to ditch its investments in Sam Altman’s OpenAI in order to pursue development of its own AI models. OpenAI has been a victim of mounting losses for a while now, and we cannot blame Microsoft for choosing to leave its side.
However these news does give credence to fake speculations about Microsoft fully monopolizing with an AI-focused, subscription-based modular operating system. Someone took this opportunity to publish an AI-generated speculative piece, which turned social media upside down.
The AI piece genuinely fooled social media for half a day
This news led some users to genuinely consider shifting to other alternatives, such as Linux, and learn a thing or two about console commands. While others fell to their knees in contemplation of how this could be the biggest failure in computing history.
The matter has been settled with all the pieces alluding to this fake news on X/Twitter being marked by a community note that straight up debunks it as fake news. Users did not spare time in pointing out how AI became the cause for ‘mass hysteria’ among people who read this piece.
AI has become a problem in day-to-day lives when it comes to differentiating between the genuine and the fake. Even then, Microsoft does not seem to be slowing down with the tech, but hopefully, for the sake of consumers, they are able to take note of dramas like these and make further informed decisions in the future.
