How to get Medicine in Black Myth Wukong

Crafting Medicine in Black Myth: Wukong is essential because it’ll help you survive the multiple boss fights scattered across the chapters. Unlike drinks and soaks, Medicines in the game will give you stat boosts, either temporary or permanent. So, here’s everything you need to know about medicines in this action-adventure game.

How to craft Medicine in Black Myth: Wukong

Make medicines Black Myth Wukong

You can craft Medicine either at Keeper’s Shrines or by interacting with Xu Dog whenever you encounter him. However, you’ll have to unlock this crafting mechanic by completing a quest for Xu Dog. You’ll meet this NPC for the first time in Chapter 2 at the Village Entrance shrine in Sandgate Village.

When you speak to him for the first time, he’ll task you with defeating the frog Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw, a boss who’s swallowed all his medicinal recipes. You will find this boss in the pool behind Xu Dog, and if you’ve fought Baw-Li-Guh-Lang in Chapter 1, you’ll realize that both these enemies have identical movesets.

After you’ve defeated Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw, you’ll have to collect the Evil Repelling Medicament formula and then take it back to Xu Dog. This marks the end of the quest line and will unlock your crafting mechanic.

It’s also worth noting that you won’t be able to craft a Medicine unless you’ve acquired its recipe. You can unlock said recipes by purchasing them from Xu Dog or looting them worldwide.

How to craft Celestial Medicine in Black Myth: Wukong

The only way to craft Celestial Medicine is by speaking to Xu Dog again after you’ve unlocked the regular Medicine crafting.

After completing his quest line, you’ll see this NPC in the Crouching Tiger Temple. He can be found at the Crouching Tiger Temple Cellar Keeper’s Shrine. You’ll notice a furnace here, so speak to him, and he’ll offer his services again.

It’s also worth noting that Celestial Medicine cannot be crafted from regular plant items. Instead, you’ll have to use items known as Mind Cores, which can be hard to come by. Celestial Medicines offer you permanent stat buffs, and you can always reallocate your buffs by choosing the “Remake Medicines” option in Black Myth: Wukong.
