Potions play a very important role in Path of Exile 2, because it’s the only way that you can heal yourself during a battle including in the Hardcore league.
Although there are pieces of gear that give you health on kill, but those are hard to come by. The game allows you to use two types of potions only, namely a healing potion and a mana regeneration potion.
So, here’s everything you need to know about potions in Path of Exile 2, and how you can refill this item while exploring the world.
How to use potions
When you first get access to your skills in Path of Exile 2, you will see that the health and mana potion will automatically be assigned to skills on your health bar.
To use it in battle, all you need to do is hit the respective button to regain health based upon the kind of flask that you’ve equipped.

There are a few key points that you need to remember when it comes to both the health potion and the mana regeneration potion in Path of Exile 2. They are:
- How much Life or Mana is restored over how many seconds.
- Total charges it can hold.
- How many charges it takes to use.
Now, as you keep using these potions, their count will reduce, which brings us to the question of refilling these potions in the game.
How to refill potions in Path of Exile 2
There are three ways in which you can refill potions in Path of Exile 2. They are:
- Whenever you kill enemies in combat, both your potion flasks will replenish over time.
- If you’re using a Waypoint to travel, when you get to your destination, it’ll automatically fill both your potions flasks to their maximum capacity.
- Finally, if you come across a Well during your travels, you can use it to fill both your health and mana regeneration potions flasks in Path of Exile 2.
However, keep in mind that if you’re changing flasks in the middle of combat, then you’ll lose all charges on your old flask. The new flask that you’ve equipped will be empty too, so make sure you change your flasks carefully.
