Hollow Knight Silksong is finally here, and is being released a whole 8 years after the first game. Much like the original, Silksong is also built using the Unity game engine, and as such mandates rather modest PC system requirements.
You can find the full PC system requirements below, sorted for each supported platform as well.
Hollow Knight Silksong PC System Requirements

You can find the official PC system requirements for the game listed below:
Minimum
- CPU: Intel Core i3 3240 or an AMD FX 4300
- RAM: 4 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti (1 GB) or an AMD Radeon HD 7750 (1 GB)
- DirectX: Version 10
Recommended
- CPU: Intel Core i5 3470 or any AMD equivalent
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 (2 GB) or an AMD Radeon R9 380 (2 GB)
- DirectX: Version 10
The game recommends at least 8 gigabytes of free storage space for its install files. While Hollow Knight Silksong might run just fine on a mechanical hard drive, it is still recommended to install the game on an SSD (even if it is SATA based) for faster load times.
This wraps it up for the Windows and Linux PC system requirements. A 64 bit version of Windows 10 (or newer) is required, while those with Linux based operating systems should likely stick to modern, 64 bit distros instead.
The game will also possess a native macOS port on launch, with the following system requirements:
Minimum
- CPU: Intel Core i3
- RAM: 4 GB
- GPU: Metal capable Intel and AMD GPUs
Recommended
- CPU: Intel Core i5 or Apple M1 and newer
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: Metal capable Intel/AMD/Apple Silicon graphics (M1 or newer)
The macOS port also recommends 8 GB of storage. Interestingly, Team Cherry has decided to extend support across both Intel and Apple Silicon based Macs, which when combined with the rather lightweight nature of the game should make it quite easy to run.
