Pokemon Legends Z-A Royale explained

Your main goal in Pokemon Legends Z-A will be to get your trainer rank up from Z (which is the starting point) to A, and this is where the Royale Promotion system comes in. It’s one of the core features in the RPG that you will want to have a firm understanding of as soon as possible.

So if you are looking to have an easier time ranking up in Legends Z-A, then the guide below will help you out.

How does the Pokemon Z-A Royale system work

With the Z-A Royale system, you will be able to ungage other NPCs in battle and rank up by securing wins. You will have Battle Zones and Promotion Matches, with encounters getting considerably harder as you raise your rank.

So to prove that you are the best Pokemon Trainer in town, you will need to reach Rank A. Upon doing so, you will also be granted a “Wish”.

Z-A Royale will only be available at night

You will not be able to take part in the Royale system during the daytime, as the city’s Battle Zones are only available at night. You will be able to spot these zones by looking for red glowing gates, and there you will find other trainers to fight against.

Wins grant Challenger Tickets

When you win against trainers in the Battle Zones, you will receive Ticket Points. Now, as you earn more Ticket Points, you will then be rewarded with Challenger Tickets, which you then use to enter Promotion Matches.

Moreover, you will get to earn more Ticket Points when you complete more conditions and objectives in Battle Cards. These can also be found in the Battle Zones.

Promotion Matches will increase your Rank

When you win enough games and get a Challenger’s Ticket, you will then get to take part in a Promotion Match. Winning this match will let you rank up. However, do keep in mind that the encounters will get harder when you reach a new rank.

How to make Royale system progress easier in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Here are a few tips and tricks that will help make climbing the Royale ranks easier in Pokemon Legends Z-A:

1) Make the most of daytime

As the Royale battles take place at night, you will want to make the most of the daytime by training your Pokemon and stocking up on items. It’s also best to explore the map during this time and then unlock all the side content that Legends Z-A has to offer.

2) Sneak up on other enemy trainers

There are two ways to start a Royale battle in Legends Z-A; however, the most reliable way to do it will be to approach trainers from behind and then sneak up on them to do a surprise attack. This will allow you to deal a considerable amount of damage to them before the encounter even begins, giving you a nice advantage.

Moreover, do keep in mind that there is a chance to instantly beat an enemy with a sneak attack, and there is also a chance that the sneak attack fails. A sneak attack can fail if you position yourself poorly, allowing the enemy trainer to build up their awareness meter. This will make them spot you and start the encounter without giving you that advantage.

3) Flee encounters you know you won’t win

There is no shame in fleeing an encounter if you are up against a tough enemy. There are a lot of chances that you will encounter trainers who are way above your league, so just exit the encounter and take them on again when you have better and leveled-up Pokemon.
