Deadlock has a fair number of scaly and furry characters running around the streets of the cursed apple, but Billy is not one of them. It’s a common mistake made by many, as they only consider his massive Goat head. Billy was actually a regular human who got his Goat head after tinkering around with black magic.
It’s never implied, but we would like to think that his backstory is a great reference to Kaiman from the hit manga and anime series Dorohedoro. Kaiman is a character whose head was turned into a lizard after he was cursed by a powerful mage.
In a previous video, we talked about how Deadlock has timeline disparities as it takes certain liberties with its setting. So we see Billy appropriating the punk culture in his dialogues and choice of clothing, which was not even a thing during the time period the game is set in.

But maybe the punk culture accelerated faster in the late 40s due to the excessive segregation of races and species by extremist cults like The Friends of Humanity.
Billy pays taxes even though he is an anarchist punk
Despite all of that, Billy’s official backstory in the game states that he pays taxes, which completely goes against the idea of an anarchist punk. Although the Patrons do tempt him by hinting at “saving” the corrupt world if he is able to complete the ritual.
Regardless, Billy never states any official reason for participating in the ritual. Maybe he is just in it because he loves rioting and looting New York. He also might be in it just to pick fights, as he is the only character out of the whole roster to hate each and every one of the in-game cast members.

However, Lach is an exception, and Billy thinks that he is attractive and built like a “Greek God” with a “sexy mustache.” Billy has a special hate for the rich in New York’s society, such as Lady Giest, but Billy does not shy away from complimenting her if she performs well during team fights.
Breaking the fourth wall is something Billy does often
Vyper is a character who has an extensive history with Billy, as she used to know him way before he got his goat head. Vyper holds Billy in high regard and asks if she can call him “Lash,” which implies that there was more to their relationship than just regular familiarity. But Billy thinks that Vyper is a complete moron.
There are quite a few fun facts about Billy, especially when it comes to his name, which is the term for male goats, while the gun he uses in combat is called Biquette, which is the French word for “Young Female Goat.”

Billy also channels his inner Deadpool at times as he constantly breaks the 4th wall through his dialogue. He specifically complains about how the rejuvenator used to go out to everybody on the team until some developer reworked that in the new update.
And just like most of the Deadlock Community, Billy specifically complains about Haze’s ult ability if he is killed by it.
