Most overpowered weapons in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

With the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Elden Ring received some of the most overpowered weapons that can cheese through most content in the game. These armaments will melt through most bosses while making it significantly easier to delete mobs in dungeons and the open world.

So if you are looking to get OP as you make your way through the Land of Shadow, then you might want to try and incorporate these weapons into your build.

Here is a list some some of the most overpowered broken in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

Most OP and broken weapons in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree and where to get them

1) Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword

Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword

The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword is one of the best strength weapons introduced with the DLC. It scales incredibly well with strength and arcane boasting the same movesets as that of a Colossal Sword.

However, what makes this one of the most overpowered weapons in Shadow of the Erdtree is its Ash of War, White Light Charge. Colossal weapons usually do not have much mobility, but with the Ash of War, you will be able to summon a white light from the meteoric ore of the weapon and then charge at the enemy.

It will pierce them though with an attack and with an additional input the stored charge will explode. While it’s a magic skill, the blast scales extremely well with Arcane.

It deals a lot of damage to normal enemies on impact while pushing them back. You will be able to spam this ability over and over again and pretty much cheese through every content in the land of Shadow.

You will be able to obtain the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword after examining the altar Ruined Forge in Starfall Past. The structure is located on the second level of the area, and you will need to pull the lever to raise the iron door and get there.

2) Bloodfiend’s Arm (Blood/Arcane version)

Bloodfiend's Arm with Arcane

The Bloodfiend’s Arm may not look that impressive at first, but wait till you put some Arcane scaling on it. At +25 the Bloodfiend’s Blood Arm reaches a whopping 220 blood build-up, making it one of the best Bleed Weapons in the game.

You will be proccing hemorrhage with almost every hit, and to make things even better, the base weapon comes with innate scaling with Strength, Dexterity, and Arcane. This means that even on enemies that have very high resistances to Bleed you will still be doing significant Physical damage.

As it’s a Colossal Weapon, you will still have poise damage and reach with it. So irrespective of the enemies that you face in the DLC, you will have a much easier time against them once you have built around this weapon.

You will be able to get the Bloodfiend’s Arm from Bloodfiend enemies as a drop. One of the best farming spots for them will be in Prospect Town which is to the west of the Taylew’s Ruined Forge Site of Grace.

3) Rakshasa’s Great Katana

Rakshasa's Great Katana Shadow of the Erdtree

Rakshasa’s Great Katana is one of the best Dexterity weapons in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s a Great Katana which is a new weapon category that has the movesets of a katana with the reach and poise damage of a greatsword.

The katana pairs extremely well with the Rakshasa armor set that boosts the amount of damage that your attacks do, but you will take more damage in return. The weapon’s Weed Cutter Ash of War makes it a very overpowered option for most PvE content in the Land of Shadows.

The skill animation also gives you a fair bit of poise and you can just stand there swinging the katana from side to side mowing down enemies. Its innate bleed build-up is also a nice bonus, making it effective against most bosses in the DLC.

You will get the Rakshasa’s Great Katana and the armor set after beating the Rakshasa boss in the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum. You can reach it by making your way to Ruins of Unte from Shadow Keep and then heading downstream. You will need to drop down to find the mausoleum.

4) Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana

Dragon Hunter's Great Katana Shadow of the Erdtree

The Dragon-Hunter is the next Great Katana on the list. It more-or-less has the same movesets as that of the Rakshasa’s Great Katana, however, the skill animation of its Ash of War is much cooler.

The Ash of War, Dragonwound Slash will coat the weapon in a jagged gravel-stone aura and then make your character leap up performing a downward slash. You can charge the skill to fire the aura off.

The weapon deals bonus damage to dragons, and you will be able to use the Ash of War to consistently reach their heads. The built-in bleed is great at chunking out their HP bar, and you will be able to comfortably champion this katana through most content

To get the weapon itself you will need to beat the Ancient Dragon Man in the Dragon’s Pit dungeon. It’s a part of Igon’s questline and by the end of it, you will get to unlock two Dragon forms for your Tarnished.

5) Sword of Darkness

Sword of Darkness

The Sword of Darkness is one of the best unique weapons in the DLC. It’s absolutely brutal in the hands of melee Faith builds and comes with great ER with good scaling in Strength, Dexterity, and Faith.

The weapon’s Ash of War, Darkness, is what makes it amazing at clearing content. When used you will create a small AoE around you from where the weapon will pull in dark energy. Those in the AoE will receive damage.

After a while, the sword will spew the darkness out in a 360-degree. The AoE is bigger on this than the initial cast and does a massive amount of damage. Additionally, those affected by Darkness, will have their Holy damage negations reduced. This means that they will take more damage from Holy attacks.

You will get the Sword of Darkness or the Sword of Light after obtaining the Stone-Sheathed Sword from an altar in one of the following locations:

  • Fog Rift Catacombs
  • Ruins of Unte
  • Ancient Ruins of Rauh

Taking it from one Altar will make the other two altars the Altar of Sword of Darkness and the Altar of Sword of Light. If you take the Stone-Sheathed Sword from the Fog Rift Catacombs then the altar in Unte will be for the Sword of Darkness, and the one in Rauh will be for Light.
