As you unlock more Elemental Plots in Visions of Mana, you will notice that the skill tree for each class is gated to a point and you will need access to expansion items to unlock the abilities in the later nodes.
These expansion items are character-specific tonics that you will be able to get your hands on as you make your way through the course of the game. There are a total of three tonics for every character, and once used, it unlocks the next set of nodes across all classes for that character.
It’s a neat progression system in the JRPG which lets you experiment around with new builds as you prep your team for the end-game.
Here is a list of all the Elemental Plot expansion items in Visions of Mana and how to get them.
How does Elemental Plot expansion work in Visions of Mana
There are eight Elemental Vessels in the game, each offering eight different classes to all five characters. Unlike the default classes these 40 classes can be upgraded and you can unlock a maximum of 11 nodes on them.
Initially, you will be able to invest Elemental Points to unlock the fourth node for every class. To unlock the rest you will need to use expansion items to make them available. These expansion items are called tonics, and you will get to acquire a total of three of them per class:
- The first tonic unlocks nodes five to seven.
- The second tonic unlocks nodes eight and nine.
- The third and final tonic unlocks nodes ten and eleven.
How to get every Elemental Plot Expansion item in Visions of Mana
The first two tonics for each character will be something that you will be able to unlock as part of the main story progression. So it’s hard to miss out on them.
As for the last one that’s where you will need to complete the main narrative and head into Chapter 11.
