The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has introduced a lot of amazing Incantations in Elden Ring. From nuking a single target from miles away or clearing out an entire mob of enemies in a flash there are a variety of spells that have been added with the expansion.
So if you are going for a Faith or an Arcane build and making a character around Incantions in the Land of Shadows then you are going to love some of the Incantations that the DLC has to offer.
Here is a list of some of the best Incantations in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree and how you can get them.
5 overpowered Incantations in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree and how to find them
1) Fire Serpent

The Fire Serpent will be one of the better Incantations for PvE and PvP that excels at dealing single-target damage. While it might not have much range, what is so amazing about this spell is how it can track the target.
When used, you will create a flam which will track and curl toward a target who is in its range. The cast animation is quite fast and by charging it you will be able to increase its potency.
You will also be able to spam the spell to create multiple threaded serpentine flames. It has a decent amount of damage and scales very well with higher Faith values.
You will be able to find the Fire Serpent in Shadow Keep. You will need to make your way up a ladder from the Storehouse, Backsection Site of Grace. Then heading past some enemies you will reach an area where there are spirits reading a book. Go past them into the balcony to find the Incantation.
2) Multilayered Ring of Light

The Multilayered Ring of Light is one of the best Holy Incantations that was introduced in Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s amazing at clearing out most of the PvE content in the expansion and boasts good AoE damage that can take out mobs that are huddled together.
When used your character will fire a multilayered golden ring of light which will continuously deal damage in a small area. Those affected will get staggered, and by charging the Incantation you will also be able to improve its potency.
It requires 36 Faith to use, uses 1 spell slot, and is obtained by defeating the Misbegotten Crusader spirit in Stone Coffin Fissure. The fissure is a secret location in the Land of Shadow and is linked to Thiollier and St. Trina’s questline.
3) Light of Miquella

Light of Miquella is perhaps the hardest-hitting Incantation that you will find in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. It requires 72 Faith and when used you will be able to create a pillar of light in an AoE which damages all foes inside it.
There are two parts to his skill. When you cast it, the initial part will create a big pillar of light around you which sends out light rays from the ground to the sky. Enemies in the AoE will be damaged.
Once all the light rays are shot up, after a brief delay it will come back down targeting more enemies near you.
The spell deals damage in two parts and can completely wipe out large enemies and bosses who will find it hard to dodge away from the projectiles.
You will get this Incantation by exchanging the Remembrance of a God and a Lord to Enia. You get the Remembrance by beating Promised Consort Radahn and Miquella.
4) Knight’s Lightning Spear

Much like Fire Serpent, the Knight’s Lightning Spear is amazing at shredding through a single target. It’s one of the best Incantations in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree to take down bosses and larger enemies who will not be able to dodge the attack.
When used you will fire a Lightning Spear at a target while creating 4 more spears that track the target. Charging the spell will add 2 more spears to the mix while making a lightning bolt strike at the point where each spear lands dealing additional damage.
With th right build set-up, the Knight’s Lightning Spear will be able to melt through most content in the Land of Shadow.
You will be able to obtain it from the Scorpion River Catacombs. While exploring the dungeon you will find a big hall with a set of eyes that inflict Deathblight. Make your way to the ledge of the hall and cross to the other side while hugging the wall.
Move past the set of eyes and you will find the Incantation in a room directly in front.
5) Messmer’s Orb

Messmer’s Orb has one of the coolest movesets out of all the Incantations that have been introduced in Shadow of the Erdtree. When cast you will jump into the air summoning Messmer’s flame and then forming it into a floating orb in your palm. You then land at the target location slamming the orb down and making it explode after a brief delay.
The Incatation has a nice AoE and by charging it up you will be able to increase its damage as well as enhance the blast radius. It requires 60 Faith to wield, but it does a lot of damage and can clear out mobs of enemies in an instant.
However, there are a few caveats to the move. The major one is, that you get no super armor or invulnerability frames during the cast animation. As the animation itself is pretty long there is a high chance that enemies will stagger you out of it. So, when using it, you will have to pick your moments.
You get Messmer’s Orb by beating him and then exchanging the Remembrance of the Impaler to Enia. Messmer is one of the hardest bosses to beat in the DLC, so make sure you are sufficiently prepared before facing him.
These are currently the best Incantations in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. We will be updating the list if FromSoftware decides to introduce nerfs and buffs to them in future patches.
