Best Spells in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

There are a variety of Magic and Feathering Spells that you will come across in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. Magic in the game is primarily used to complement the build that you are going for, and to make you as OP as possible as you reach the end game.

Every spell in the game is unique and has different interactions with the enemies as well as the six weapon archetypes. However, some spells are just a bit more potent than the rest and will be able to help you breeze your way through most content as long as you have the best armor sets equipped.

Below is a guide on some of the best spells that you might want to try out in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

The best and most potent spells in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

1) Burning Flames

When activated, you will leap backward then launch multiple fireballs at the enemy. This deals a fair bit of damage and will cause burn buildup on the enemies hit. Moreover, if you are hit when leaping backward, then you will trigger Alacrity.

You get the spells very early on by defeating the lone bird-masked enemy who can be encountered in the charred area in Doomwillow Beach. You reach the location by circling past the beach, then climbing up a set of ladders which are found on the side before heading down into the Corpse Pits.

The high burn build-up is what makes this spell one of the best in the early-to-mid game mark. It can also see you through the end game; however, you will need to start landing all four fireballs to make the most of them.

You dodge attacks during the flip back, making it a good move to create some distance between you and the enemy, allowing you to have a much easier time maneuvering around the map.

However, the spell does have a pretty steep Skyborn Might Cost. So you will not be able to keep spamming this spell over and over again.

Note: Enemies affected by Burn will continuously take fire damage and also suffer increased damage taken.

2) Echo of Liu Cheng’en

When activated, you will start a dance with phantom blades, which will produce a barrage of storm-like attacks that will continuously hit enemies and inflict Frostbite buildup.

To get the Echo of Liu Cheng’en, you will need to beat Liu Cheng’en at the Snowpeak Pass in Cloudspire. To reach the area, you will need to reach the Snowpeak Pass after lighting up the towers in the Cloudspire Outskirts or after you have taken down General of the North – Ai Nengqi.

What makes the spell amazing is the Frostbite build-up that it inflicts on the enemy. The move hits up to three times and can immediately inflict the status effect as long as you are landing all three hits.

This makes it a great AoE spell; however, the AOE of the Echo is in melee range. So you will have to be pretty close to the enemy for the hits to connect. It takes some practice to master the spell, but once you do, you will be able to make the most of it and breeze through some of the harder content.

Note: Enemies affected by Frostbite have their maximum stamina halved for the duration. When Frostbite procs, it also deals an initial amount of damage to the enemy.

3) Divine Ward

When active, you will pray to the divine to help reduce the amount of damage that you take for some time. You can purchase this spell from the panda for 5 bamboo shoots.

This spell is especially handy when you are struggling to parry and Shimmer through the enemy attacks. This will help you against almost every difficult encounter in the game as it will provide you with a 20%-30% damage reduction from all sources.

The negation is quite generous and will allow you to tank hits which would otherwise one-shot your character. Hence, the Divine Ward is one of the best defensive spells in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.

As you can buy this spell from the panda, you will be able to get your hands on it as early as Chapter 1. You will find the panda in a cave past the point where you first found Nian Suichang.

You can explore the area to get four bamboo shoots, with an additional one being obtained from the Storyteller.

4) Echo of Huang Yan

When you use the Echo of Huang Yan, you will call forth a swarm of insects that split into groups and then scatter in all directions. The spell then deals Feathering damage on the enemies that the insects are attacking and causes Corruption Buildup. You will also gain Alacrity if you are attacked while in the cast animation.

To get your hands on this spell, you will need to defeat Mistress of the Night, Huang Yan, in the Treasure Trove located beneath the Snowfall Palace in Cloudspire.

The Echo of Huang Yan is one of the best spells in Wuchang Fallen Feathers when it comes to inflicting the Corruption status effect on enemies. The insect swarm tracks the enemies so you don’t necessarily have to be very accurate with your spell timing.

Moreover, you can also cast this spell mid-air, and if hit, you will simply trigger Alacrity and then dodge the incoming enemy attack.

Note: The Corruption status effect deals continuous damage to any enemy affected by it.

5) Echo of Dhutanga

When activated, you will fire a crescent-shaped spade of fire in front of you. You can then press the spell button again to smash down, which will then cause Burn buildup on enemies. Striking an enemy from behind with this spell will let you unleash an Obliterate strike instead.

The spell is obtained pretty early on by beating one of the initial story bosses, Dhutanga. It has some devastating attack power and will be able to stun most smaller enemies that it hits and even knock them down.

It’s one of the best early-to-mid game spells in Wuchang Fallen Feathers and will see you through some parts of the late game. However, the spell can fall off in potential if you are not building around it with the ideal Benedictions and Pendants.

It has a pretty average spell cost of 2 Skyborn; however, you can further reduce this cost to one if you have the “Fury of the Skyborn” active.

6) Infernal Flames

The Infernal Flames is one of the simpler spells in the game. When cast, you will send forth a flame that pursues enemies and then cause burn buildup on them. It has a very high burn damage, and is great at complementing a very melee-focused playstyle.

Just cast out the flaming head, and let them burn the enemy while you keep the pressure on with your melee weapon. This spell comes in especially handy if you are not going for a very spell-heavy playstyle, and just want to use magic as an extra support tool.

You will be able to acquire the Infernal Fames by looting defeated Face-Changer enemies around Shu Sanctum in Worship’s Rise. It’s one of the rarer drops that you will be able to get from these enemies.

7) Divine Might

Divine Might is another simple spell that you will want to have in your repertoire in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. When used, you will be able to significantly increase the damage of your next attack that you land on the target.

You obtain the spell from a corpse which is right next to the Red-Clad Lady in Doomwillow Beach. So you get this pretty early on in your journey, and the spell is potent enough to be useful for the rest of your playthrough.

This spell comes especially handy if you are using weapons like Axes and Longswords. You can keep generating a stack of Skyborn Might and then proc this skill over and over to empower every hit.

8) Echo of Lu Hongliu

When triggered, you will raise your left hand and unleash a piercing shriek. This will force enemies around you to flee while dealing Feathering damage to them. However, using this spell will build up despair on the caster.

To get the Echo of Lu Hongliu, you will need to take down Gluttonous Monstrosity – Lu Hongliu in the Luo Courtyard located around the Shu Sanctum in Worship’s Rise.

It’s a low-cost AoE spell that comes in handy when you are surrounded by multiple enemies. This will make them flee while also dealing a fair bit of damage to them. However, don’t keep spamming this spell if you do not have a high enough resistance to Despair.
