Blightwood is an essential material for creating an iron pickaxe in RuneScape Dragonwilds. However, because of how effective this tool is, getting your hands on Blightwood isn’t as easy as collecting wool threads or other basic crafting materials in the game.
In this guide, we’ll go over everything about collecting Blightwood in RuneScape Dragonwilds, including how to survive the region as well as setup a farming process.

Where to find Blightwood in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Unsurprisingly, the Bloodblight Swamp in RuneScape Dragonwilds contains all the Blightwood you’ll need.
Now, this is a far-off area on the eastern side of the map and you reach there by going north of Bramblemead Valley. Go further north of Whispering Swamp through the Fractured Plains and finally, go east to reach the Bloodblight Swamp.
We’ve highlighted the way to reach the location in the image below as well.

How to farm Blightwood in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Before making your way over to the Bloodblight Swamp, you’ll need two things:
- Lodestone
- Anti-poison potion
- Bronze pickaxe (Check out our guide on how to get bronze bars)
How to set up Lodestone teleportation
Your map contains Dragonkin Vaults (six of them are marked by a blue flag with white stripes) and you must collect Vault Cores from them:

A Lodestone can be crafted with 32 stones, 20 Rune Essence, and 1 Vault Core. We just told you how to get the Vault Cores, and stones and Rune Essence are two of the most common items in the open world.
There are over 25 Rune Geysers spread across Temple Woods and Bramblemead Valley. You can mine Rune Essence from them.

Now, there are two things to keep in mind while setting up a teleport location through Lodestone. You’ll need 10 Law Runes every time you teleport, so make sure to craft enough of them through a Rune Altar (can be crafted with 12x Stone and 4x Rune Essence).
To create Law Runes that allow teleportation, you’ll have to level up your Runecrafting to at least level 16. Don’t worry, nothing special is required for this as you just need to keep gathering Rune Essence and craft more Runes.

With the teleportation basics out of the way, it’s time to take the long journey to Bloodblight Swamp. Wherever you feel that things are getting dangerous, place a Lodestone and as your respawn, you can directly continue your adventure.
We’ve marked the best entry point for Bloodblight Swamp as well as the place where you should place your Lodestone for farming Blightwood in the image above the second heading.
The place marked on the image above contains over three Blightwood Roots that you can break to obtain Blightwood. If you die, just respawn at your base and teleport to the location again to continue farming Blightwood.
How to create anti-poison potion

Although the farming technique mentioned above eliminates the need of having an anti-poison potion all the time, you’ll be better off having it in your inventory anyway.
We already have a dedicated guide on brewing but here’s a rundown of the materials needed for this potion:
- Harralander – Found in swamp biomes. They look a lot like other plants but you can use torches and look for their unique blue tint.
- Bittercap Mushroom – Red-orange fungii native to Whispering Swamp and you’re more likely to find them near water.
- Clay Vessel – Put clay in the klin to create vessels.
Last but not least, it is worth noting that Blightwood can only be farmed with a bronze or better axe in the game, so make sure your inventory is upgraded enough.
