Tier 5 gear is the most powerful gear variant that you will come across in Destiny 2, including the Solstice event.
With Bungie giving the entire game a massive overhaul with the Edge of Fate, it’s only natural that they’d do the same for these events too.
With how the game is currently designed, gear farming is the endgame, and you are bound to hit a stonewall after a point. However, with the Solstice here, it’s definitely a bit easier to get your hands on these powerful Tier 5 gear in Destiny 2.
How to Farm Tier 5 Gear Easily in Destiny 2
There are a few pre-requisites that you need to meet before you begin your Tier 5 hunt. They are:
- Reach power level 350.
- Unlock Guardian Rank 7 from the Journey Tab.
With those two out of the way, here’s what you need to do:
Head over to the Portal and to the Solo Ops activity section. Check for which activity is offering you a bonus drop including a Distorted Solstice Engram.
Whenever you open these Distorted Solstice Engrams in Destiny 2, if you’re of a high enough Guardian Rank and power level, you’ll receive Tier 5 drops from this.
Additionally, whenever you complete these activities, you’ll need to ensure that you complete the bonus objective to unlock the A+ rank.

Although there’s always a possibility that you get these drops even when you’re not meeting the required rank, but hitting the A+ rank ensures all your Tier 5 drops.
This holds true, not only for Solo Ops but for Fireteam Ops also. Now, whenever you complete these activities, you receive a currency called Solstice Alloy.
Once you’ve collected 100 Solstice Alloy, make your way to the Solstice Forge within the Event Hub and claim a piece of Tier 5 armor for yourself in Destiny 2.
It’s worth noting that even if your power level is somewhere in the low 300 range, then you’ll still get some Tier 5 drops, but not as consistently as you would expect.
