How to complete the Shattered Veil easter egg for Black Ops 6 Zombies

SAM in the Shattered Veil

The quest begins as players spawn within the Garden Pond, and are directed on what to do – until they reach the Pack-a-Punch machine. After this particular point, refer to the sequence of steps below in order to complete the easter egg:

Head to the mansion

  • Head into one of the two routes (which lead to the same location – pick any one).
  • Kill zombies along the way to grab Essence.
  • Unlock the locked gates. There will be a total of 3 such gates.
  • Head into the Banquet Hall past the third gate to find a broken elevator.

Grab the fuse

  • Next, head into the Library, as marked on your map.
  • Climb up the ladder, and eliminate the maintenance worker zombie.
  • Grab the fuse from its corpse, and head back.

Get the circuit board

  • Head into the Director’s Quarters.
  • A computer should be present here. At the top of the CPU box, there should be a pulsing red light – shoot at it.
  • The circuit board should drop in unharmed. Grab it and head back to the Banquet Hall.

Next, repair the elevator using the circuit board and fuse when prompted to do so. Call the elevator, and keep your guns loaded – you will be attacked by zombies once the doors open to your destination.
After a climatic cutscene, the elevator should begin to free fall. Descend using the zipline into the lower levels.

Next, Head to the Mainframe Chamber. SAM will be located within the lower levels. Head to the higher platforms, and grab the Pack-a-Punch machine.

Grab the Ray Gun Mark II

The Code key
  • Firstly, deal with any zombies that spawn in the area. Wait until Round 10 for a unique zombie with purple eyes to spawn. Kill it to obtain the Floppy Disk.
  • Next, head toward the Grand Foyer, and then into the East Foyer on your right. There should be a computer at the corner, make sure to interact with it in order to print a document. The document contains a four letter code that must be decrypted.
  • Head into the Nursery which contains the PhD Flopper Perk-a-Cola machine. The west section contains a blackboard., from which you can decrypt the code.
  • Take note of the letters arranged within the blackboard. Letters should be grouped together – which denotes their corresponding code. For example, if A is with NI (ANI), it will have a value of 3, and so on.
  • Arrange the four digit code, and keep note of it.
  • Head back to the Service Tunnel with SAM. Enter the 4-digit code on the glass cabinet housing the Doppelghast. Once released, the Doppelghast will immediately attack – fire on it to kill it and grab its Severed Arm.
  • Finally, head back to the Supply Depot, and look for the Armory. You can now collect the Ray Gun Mark II from here, and perform a series of upgrades.

How to upgrade the Ray Gun Mark II

Using the Ray Gun

To begin, find 3 empty canisters:

  • The first canister can be collected using a LT53 Kazimir – which can be crafted or collected from a zombie within the Service Tunnel, beside the destroyed truck. Next, head to the Rear Patio, and throw the LT53 Kazimir at the window. The gun should be pulled in by the vortex, clearing the path for grabbing the first canister.
  • The second canister can be found locked within any of the four crystals (present at the Southwest Balcony, Conservatory, East Foyer and Service Tunnel). Hit them with the Ray Gun Mark II to shatter them and grab the canister. The location is random.
  • The third and final canister requires crafting two Combat Axes. With the two items in place, head back into the Service Tunnel and turn left until you spot an opening with leaky valves that spew gas. Throw an axe toward the central valve to redirect the flow of the gas. Next, throw another axe at the B-pipe to resume its flow. Finally, head on over to the Mainframe Chamber to find a pod with the flammable gas in it. Throw an explosive at the pod in order to detonate it, and finally grab the third canister.

Next, you will have to upgrade the Wonder Weapon to the Ray Gun Mark II-R:

  • Start by collecting 4 plant seeds. These seeds can be found housed within certain orange colored plants scattered across the map – shoot at it using the Ray Gun Mark II to grab it.
  • Finally, head on over to the Conservatory, and make your way toward the Ammo Cache.
  • Place the Empty Canister within the machine with a canister slot.
  • Place each seed within the four marked planters. Do note that planting each seed will spawn zombies – make sure to be prepared for a fight.
  • The canister should now be fully charged into a Toxic Canister, ready for use.
  • Head back to the Garden Pond and find a yellow workbench – use it to upgrade and craft the Ray Gun Mark II-R.

Past this point, you will have to complete The Ritual. To do so head into the Library, and toward the painting on your left. Interact with it to spawn a Liminal Portal. Defeat any zombies that spawn using the upgraded Ray Gun.

Each kill will charge the portal. Accumulate the sufficient number of kills within 60 seconds in order to be able to fully charge the portal – which should then open the way forward (from the painting).

Once unlocked, walk through the portal to find 3 particular hidden items using the Aether Shroud Field Upgrade:

  • Audio Logs: Can be found on top of a table in the Overlook area (atop the Dino Skeleton room), or In front of the sofa near some machines within the Library.
  • Ledger: On a study table within the East Foyer – or within the Study Chamber opposite to the Elemental Pop Perk-a-Cola machine.
  • Nuclear ID Card: Within a fireplace on the East Foyer, or beside the elevator in the Banquet Hall.

After acquiring the items, head back to the Library to find a peculiar bookshelf opposite to the portal, containing three glowing books. Activate them in the correct order – this will require trial and error. Once the doorway is unlocked, walk through the portal to prepare for a boss battle against the Amalgam. Use the Ray Gun Mark II-R to damage its shield and defeat it, to power up the Sentinel Artifact.

Next, upgrade the weapon to Ray Gun Mark II-P

  • Grab two Reflective Discs. These can be found within the fountains with stone lion engravings. (southwest balcony and conservatory chamber)
  • Grab the Essence Bomb. This can be located inside peculiar white boxes marked with Project Janus’s symbol, scattered across the map.
  • Place the Essence Bomb on the blocked pathway within the Service Tunnel. Detonate it and clear a path.
  • Head down and place the empty canister on the requisite machine. Next, use the previously collected reflective discs to direct the light beams toward the Doppleghast Statue.
  • The Doppleghast should be liberated from its statue. Kill it, and direct the beam to yet another statue. There will be a total of 3 Doppleghast Statues to find and kill.
  • Once all enemies are dealt with, the canister should be transformed into a Light Canister.
  • Finally, head on over to the Doctor’s Quarters. Interact with the yellow workbench to upgrade the Ray Gun Mark II to the Ray Gun Mark II-P.

It is now time to deal with yet another Ritual. Head back to the Banquet Hall, and interact with the largest statue to spawn multiple zombies, which can only be killed using the Ray Gun Mark II-P.  Kill enough zombies in under the time limit to spawn the Liminal Portal.

Finally, enter through the portal to find the red Ritual Elixir bottle on the dining table. The Elixir must be poured onto three specific Chalices:

  • The first Chalice can be found on a small table in the Bottlery area.
  • The second Chalice can be found within the Garden Pond, left of the GobbleGum machine.
  • The third and final Chalice is on a bench opposite the skeleton in the Dino Skeleton Room.

Each Chalice will spawn an Elder Disciple, so be prepared for a fight. After defeating all 3 Elders, head into the Banquet Hall. There will be a set of numbers marked near the elevator wall. Note them down.

Head into the West Hallway containing the Death Perception Perk-a-Cola machine. Find the safe, and enter the 6-digit code you noted down earlier. This should give you the Ritual item, which you must then carry over to the Banquet Hall.

Place the item on the pedestal to start a mini boss fight against Kurontha. Make sure to use the Ray Gun Mark II-P to nuke his shields during the battle. Once defeated, the Sentinel Artifact should now be fully charged. Collect it, and move forward.

Now we can finally upgrade the gun to its full potential, unlocking the Ray Gun Mark II-W:

  •  Head back to Shem’s Henge and over to the Speed Cola Perk-a-Cola machine. There should be a curious machine with a canister slot present – place the final, empty canister here.
  • Do not fight the Abomination that spawns just yet – head back to the Circular Arena, and stand behind the three rocks. Wait for the Abomination to attack you with its beams. Once the beams hit all three rocks (indicated by a blue hue), bait the Abomination into diving headfirst into these rocks.
  • Once hit, the rocks should start to float. Once all three rocks float, it should automatically kill the Abomination.
  • The Power Extractor should automatically begin charging here – defend it from hostiles for around 2 whole minutes for the process to complete.
  • Grab the Explosive Canister and head back to the Supply Depot’s portal. Use the nearby yellow crafting machine to create the Ray Gun Mark II-W.

With the gun’s upgrade finally complete, you will now have to complete the final Ritual:

  • Find the small lantern near the Double Tap Perk-a-Cola machine within the mansion. Search for a box present near the deer heads for the lantern. This is within the first chamber.
  • With the lantern, head into the Grand Foyer. Head into the west section of the room, to find an empty slot for another lantern – place the collected lantern here. A puzzle should begin, and players will have to interact with the blinking lights in order to complete it thrice.
  • Successfully completing the challenge will unlock an activation machine, with a portal. Interact with it to start the Ritual, where you will be directed to eliminate as many zombies as you can using the Ray Gun.
  • With the challenge completed, the Liminal Portal should now be active. Head inside and collect the Bell from the Study Room.
  • Next, head into the Overlook section’s south-east corner to find a bar. Interact with it to place the Bell on the counter and unlock the Brain Rot Ammo mod. You should now be ambushed by zombies.
  • Wait for the zombie to approach the counter and transform when shot at. Ring the Bell a few times, which should direct the zombie to move out and collect the Ritual item for you.

With these steps completed, it is now time to face off against The Mangler, a mini-boss of sorts. Use the Ray Gun to break its shield, and dish damage. Grab the Sentinel Artifact and head onto the final challenge.

Z-Rex Boss Fight

The Z Rex boss fight
  • Initiate the fight by placing the Sentinel Artifact on the console, where SAM is present. Make sure to be adequately prepared for this fight, it will be a challenge.
  • Attack the Z-Rex’s eyes, and maintain your distance. Be wary of the toxic trail it leaves behind.
  • Defeat the Z-Rex to play a cutscene, which should entirely change how things proceed within the Zombies storyline.

This marks the end of the quest(s) and easter egg.
