You will be able to create your own custom armor set in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 by mixing and matching the various armaments that you come across in the game. This system allows a fair bit of freedom and you will be able to create a very unique look for your marine as you make your way through the missions.

How to unlock Armor Customization in Space Marine 2
You will be able to start customizing your armor after completing the Skyfire campaign mission and the prologue in Operation 1. Once you are done with the quest, you will return to the Barge and gain access to the Armouring Hall.
Here you will be able to customize your marine’s armor by talking to Galeo and interacting with the terminal. You will be able to access the pre-order bonuses and special edition content from here as well.
Once you interact with the terminal you will be able to view all the armor sets that you have unlocked in Space Marine 2 so far.
How to customize your armor and create sets in Space Marine 2
To be able to customize your armor you will need to:
- Select one of the two modes and then select the armor class that you want to mix and match. Then click on “Edit Armor” which is at the bottom of your screen which will then pull up the armor selection menu.
- Here you can spot all the armor sets that you have unlocked thus far along with four custom armor slots. The slots will let you create your custom armor set and once you hover your cursor over them you will then be able to select armor for the following slots:
- Helmet
- Pauldrons
- Breastplate
- Wargear
- Gauntlets
- Greaves
- You will now be able to mix, match, and swap the various armor pieces to create a unique marine.
However, do keep in mind that you will not be able to mix armor pieces between classes. But you will gain access to more customization options when booting up Astartes Chapters and looking for armor options there.
In the Astartes Chapters, you will have the two customization options:
General Rules:
- A simpler method of customizing your armor set. It will let you apply paint and decals to each of your customized armor sets and not go into changing individual armor pieces. The system will also let you buy new paint and decals for your marine’s armor by using the in-game currency.
Custom Rules:
- Under the Custom Rules option in the Astartes Chapters, you will have more freedom to modify your appearance. When you click on the (+) icon there you will get the option to customize individual armor pieces with any color or decal that you want.
How to delete custom armor sets in Space Marine 2
You will not be allowed to have more than four custom armor slots in Space Marine 2. So you will have to do away with one set if you are planning to make a fifth one. However, you will not be able to delete a custom set that you have created in th standard armor menu. These can only be replaced by a new set.
Fortunately, for the sets that you have made under the Astartes Chapter, you will be able to delete the individual chapters. Just hover over the piece that you want to do away with and then hold down the Space bar if you are on th keyboard or circle if you are on the controller.
