A Crystallization Catalyst is an important consumable in The First Descendant because it’ll help you customize your build to a great extent.
Just like most of the consumables in the game, you can either purchase these items with premium currency, or you can get your hands on these items for free, but that has a long grind associated with it.
How to obtain Crystallization Catalysts
There are three ways to get Crystallization Catalysts in The First Descendant:
- Get them on the Premium track of the Battle Pass.
- Purchase them for 300 Caliber.
- Research them at Magister Anais.
Of the three methods mentioned above, only the third one is free, but even that is time-gated. To get it, you’ll have to collect the required materials, and then head over to Anais to research it.

However, researching an item takes time, so you will either have to wait it out, or you can accelerate the research by spending Caliber.
Here’s what you need to craft this item:
- 1 Crystallization Catalyst Blueprint
- Mastery Rank: Research Available at Rank 1
- 8 Murky Energy Residue
- 22 Macromolecule Biogel
- 8 Mix Energy Residue
- 18 Advanced Neural Circuit
- 187,500 Gold
How to use
- From your inventory, navigate to the Descendant or Weapon Module Socket that you want to change.
- Select ‘Module Additional Settings,’ and then ‘Assign Module Socket Type‘
- Select the Socket Module type and apply it to the slot which has a module with the same symbol.

A Crystallization Catalyst will change the Socket Type of a weapon module. You might have noticed that every module has a symbol on top, and whenever you place it in a socket with a matching symbol, its’ capacity cost is halved.
Using this consumable will allow you to fit more modules into your character or weapon, allowing you to increase your build efficiency to a great degree.
