How to catch all Paldean Tauros versions in Pokemon Go: Location, counters, shiny status

The Stunning Styles event is well underway in Pokemon Go, and one of its biggest highlights is the debut of Paldean Tauros. Although you cannot evolve this wild bull, its three unique versions are up for grabs now in the game.

The Stunning Styles event leaves Pokemon Go on April 7, 2025, alongside the three versions of the Paldean Tauros and there’s no information on when we can expect these special variants to return.

On that note, here’s how you can unlock the Combat Breed, Blaze Breed, and Aqua Breed versions of the Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Go.

Where to find all three versions of Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Go

Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Go

Each version of the Paldean Tauros is exclusively available in the following regions:

  • Combat Breed Paldean Tauros – Iberian Peninsula
  • Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros – Eastern Hemisphere
  • Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros – Western Hemisphere

Do note that the Paldean Tauros won’t appear in the wild. Instead, you’ll find it in three-star Raids, and naturally, the version you’ll be able to catch will depend on your region. These raids have been appearing since April 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM (local time) and will be live till April 7, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time.

Because the Paldea region in Pokemon is based on Portugal and Spain, it makes perfect sense for the Combat version to be exclusive to the Iberian Peninsula.

The Eastern Hemisphere includes countries such as Russia, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, China, India, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Australia.

Anyone playing in these countries and nearby regions will have the option to catch the Blaze Breed.

Last, but not least, the Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros will appear in three-star Raids in the Western Hemisphere, which includes countries like Canada, United States, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Greenland.

Interestingly, players in the UK might be able to get their hands on both Blaze and Aqua breeds. Although most of the United Kingdom lies in the Western Hemisphere, the far eastern region takes you to the Eastern Hemisphere.

Cambridge is located in the Eastern Hemisphere and nearby cities like Bedford, Huntingdon, Sandy, St Neots, and Biggleswade are some options where you can aim to catch the Blaze Breed.

Now that you know where to find the Paldean Tauros, you’d also want to know the best counters to beat these bulls. So, here’s a rundown of the best counters to beat Paldean Tauro versions in Raids.

Cobmat Breed Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Go

Combat Breed counters

Since the Combat Breed Paldeon Tauros is a pure Fighting-type Pokemon, you can counter it with Fairy, Flying, and Psychic moves. Do note that using Pokemon of these types isn’t enough and you must make sure that they also have the relevant moves.

Some examples of such counters:

  • Rayquaza with Air Slash and Dragon Ascent (fast move and charge move)
  • Mewtwo with Psycho Cut and Psystrike
  • Alakazam with Confusion and Psychic
  • Gardevoir with Confusion and Psychic
  • Tapu Lele with Confusion and Nature’s Madness
  • Moltres with Wing Attack and Sky Attack

Avoid using Pokemon from Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark, and Steel types as Fighting-type moves are super-effective against them.

Blaze version of Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Go

Blaze Breed counters

The Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros belongs to Fighting and Fire types. Thanks to the dual typing, the Pokemon now becomes weak to Ground, Psychic, Flying, and Water types. Avoid any Grass, Ice, Bug, and Steel Pokemon to evade the super effective Fire damage.

Here are some potent counter combinations:

  • Kyogre with Waterfall and Origin Pulse
  • Groudon with Mud Shot and Precipice Blades
  • Garchomp with Mud Shot and Earth Power
  • Swampert with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon
  • Pidgeot with Gust and Brave Bird.
Aqua Breed Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Go

Aqua Breed counters

As the name suggests, the Aqua Breed belongs to Fighting and Water types and it is weak to Electric, Fairy, Flying, Grass, and Psychic moves. It’ll be able to resist Bug, Dark, Fire, Ice, Rock, Steel, and Water moves, though.

It’s important to reiterate that you should make sure that the Pokemon you’re using in Raids not only belongs to these types but also has the moves. This activates the STAB (same type-attack-bonus) and makes things much easier.

Here are some additional counters:

  • Sceptile with Bullet Seed and Frenzy Plant
  • Salamance with Dragon Tail and Fly
  • Thundurus with Volt Switch and Wildbolt Storm
  • Shaymin with Magical Leaf and Grass Knot
  • Venusaur with Vine Whip and Frenzy Plant

Avoid using Fire, Ground, and Rock Pokemon here as Water moves are super-effective against them.

Can Paldeon Tauros be shiny in Pokemon Go?

No, based on the official blog post by the developers, it can be confirmed that Paldean Tauros doesn’t have a shiny version in Pokemon Go as of now.
