There are a lot of characters in the Deadlock roster who many in the community consider to be complete freaks. And then there is Vyper, who goes above and beyond that level of normalcy.
If you have been playing Deadlock for a while, you probably already know that Vyper exhibits some unusual infatuations that would even weird out characters like Lash. Her unhinged nature is further revealed in her conversations with Billy.
She is one of the few characters among the playable outlaws who has been to jail the most, and has also successfully slithered out of it every time. Vyper is a gorgon, so her serpentine traits make her a professional escape artist.
Vyper was officially added to the game in 2025
Her current in-game design is only a placeholder for now, as it utilizes the character model for Kali, who was a part of the Neon Prime roster. Though fans have grown to love her current iteration, there have also been fanarts that tried to reimagine what her new design could look like.
Vyper was originally a Hero Labs character when Deadlock first went into closed playable alpha. She was officially added to the main roster of the game in January of 2025 alongside other newcomers.
As an Outlaw, Vyper’s portfolio is full of illegal criminal accolades, including being one of the most skilled thieves in the streets of Cursed Apple. This is also the reason why the Paradox organization has a strong dislike towards her.
The Paradox organization absolutely hates Vyper
Paradox, especially, is of the opinion that Vyper’s actions are always an insult to her profession. We get to know of this through her in-game dialogues whenever Paradox gets a kill on her.
This is also the reason why she was kicked out of the Paradox museum. It is a no-brainer that she would be up to no good if allowed into places that harbour large amounts of valuable items on display.
Vyper has a cat-and-mouse relationship with bounty hunters, especially Silver, who keeps putting her in jail. This association is further referenced through their skills, entangling bola and the pretrifying bola, which share similar names.
However, with all this apparent goofiness, it should also make it clear that Vyper is not to be mistaken for an endearing character. She has been charged with multiple murder cases several times, and does not refrain from boasting about it. Vyper is also known to kill civilians, especially tourists, without remorse.
