Shiny Echoes are basically skins for the Tacet Discords you capture which alters their looks in Wuthering Waves. The Echo system is one of the most unique mechanics for any open-world RPG gacha. Having an extra skin option helps diversify the looks for each enemy you capture.

What are Shiny Echoes in Wuthering Waves
Shiny Echoes are rare variants or alternate colorations of the Tacet Discords you defeat and acquire while exploring the vast landscapes of Solaris 3. Once you obtain them, you can equip their look on your existing echoes, altering their appearance. Think of them as the Shiny Pokemon counterpart from Nintendo’s monster collector franchise.
These are termed Phantom Echoes in Wuthering Waves. Keep in mind that these only alter the appearance of the existing ones and do not improve any stats or give any type of buffs.
How to obtain Shiny Echoes in Wuthering Waves
There are two main methods to unlock these rare variants for your echoes. The first method is quite simple. The points shop in the game allows you to unlock three Phantom Echoes. You will need to play the endgame content to unlock them though.
The Adversity Exchange uses the Hazard Record currency which you can obtain by clearing the floors of the Tower of Adversity. You can also unlock a few from the Simulation Training Store which is the second tab of the point shop. These can be obtained by completing the Tactical Hologram challenges located all over Huanglong.
You can also get one Phantom Echo from the Depths of Illusive Realm’s store. Clear the stages in this game mode to get more Illusive Specimen points and unlock the Shiny Echo.
