As you start exploring the dense open world of Where Winds Meet, you will come across various Outposts, which are marked by a red fortress icon on the map. These are extremely important points of interest that you can visit and complete to get your hands on additional rewards.
Every region has several Outposts that you can conquer and ultimately complete the progression bar for that area to get your hands on a lot of unlockables. So if you are looking to make the most of the Outposts in the RPG, then the guide below will help you out.
What are Outposts in Where Winds Meet?
As mentioned, Outposts are heavily guarded fortresses that you will come across in the open world of Where Winds Meet. These are marked with a red fortress icon on the map, and you will find a lot of enemies here guarding loot.
Every outpost has a different condition and objective, and completing them for the first time will grant you unique rewards. You can challenge the Outpost again, but that will need some energy; however, as long as you have the resource, you can keep completing it for more rewards.

Tips and Tricks for Clearing Outposts in Where Winds Meet
Here are a few tips and tricks that will help you have a much easier time completing Outposts in the game:
1) Make the most of Explosive Barrels
Detonating Explosive Barrels will not only distract enemies but also deal a fair bit of damage to them. So you can combine them with the Veil of Stillness Mystic Art, which will let you sneak around the fortress while detonating these explosive barrels.
2) Assasinate Enemies to thin out their numbers
The Touch of Death Mystic Art will let you assassinate isolated enemies in these Outposts. This will help in thinning out their numbers, making it significantly easier to complete this PoI and obtain all of its rewards.
3) Look out for special event sequences
Some of the Outposts in each region will have special event sequences, which will start as soon as you approach the main entrance of the PoI. You will then be asked to pick through certain choices, giving you a chance of making the Outpost significantly easier to complete.
Outpost rewards in Where Winds Meet
There are a variety of rewards that you will be able to get from Outposts in Where Winds Meet. The rewards will also differ from Outpost to Outpost:
1) First Clear Outpost Rewards
- Constitution
- Dragon Key
- Medicinal Tales
- Oscillating Jade
- Qinghe Exploration
These First Clear rewards are consistent and will be gained from almost every Outpost after completing it for the first time. Some other Outposts give even more first clear rewards which will include PLayer Avatars, Recipes, Tomes, and more.
2) Farmable Outpost Rewards
- Random Tier Gear
- Outpost Cosmetic Chest
- Character EXP
- Crimson Leaves Chest
- Lv. 1 Ebon Iron
- Oscillating Jade
- Zhou Coin
When it comes to the farmable rewards, the quantity as well as the quality of the items that you receive will depend on the level of your Solo World. So the higher your single-player level, the better rewards you will be able to get from consistently farming the Outposts.
3) Additional Rewards
- Internal Art Note: Custom Chest
- Echo
- Attunement Stone
These are additional rewards that are exclusive to higher world tiers. These are not something that you will be able to farm right away, and you will need to invest a significant amount of time.
