Wuchang: Fallen Feathers to Receive Massive Fixes Following Disastrous Steam Launch

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received glowing review scores, but it’s Steam launch had other things in store for it.

From erratic crashes, to random bugs that prevented you from gaining your pre-order rewards, the game witnessed it all.

Like most devs after a problematic Steam launch, 505 Games has also acknowledged the issues and has promised to fix the issues that players faced with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

When to Expect Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Bug Fix Update?

Based on the information revealed by the developers, there isn’t a specific window for when the bug fixes are supposed to come out. Additionally, it’s not going to be solved in a single fix, but they will likely be releasing multiple fixes to address the numerous issues that plague the game.

At the time of writing this article, the game holds around 37,000 negative reviews on Steam, making it one of the most negatively reviewed games on the platform.

In an official post on Steam, the developers apologized for the issues that players faced while trying to play the game on the platform.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone for their continued patience and understanding regarding the recent issues”, said 505 Games.

As compensation for those who failed to claim all their Standard and Deluxe edition pre-order rewards, the devs have guaranteed the following bonuses:

  • Steam Deluxe Edition : in addition to the single costume as compensation, there will be 3 extra sets of Deluxe costumes + 4 weapons.
  • Standard and Deluxe Editions holders will additionally obtain 3 headgear items across all platforms.

Apart from this compensation, 505 Games plans on implementing the following changes on the performance front:

  • Fix crashes across different devices
  • Improve frame rates and reduce lag on certain graphics cards
  • Optimize default settings for some graphics cards
  • Correct the speed of getting up after being knocked down
  • Reduce damage and the number of some traps
  • Lower impact resistance of certain low-level monsters
  • Reduce exploration pressure in some areas
  • Fix issues caused by missing items leading to quest interruptions
  • Improve AI logic for monsters and bosses
  • Enhance texture quality in low-resolution areas
  • Improve asset detail and precision in some regions

While these fixes and the acknowledgement itself is quite promising, it’ll be interesting to see when they finally deploy updates to fix the bugs in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
