Unlike the Java edition of Minecraft, Bedrock lacked a means to enhance its visual quality – either by the use of mods or shader/texture packs. That is, up until now. Mojang has finally introduced a custom shader preset across all major versions of the game, including Bedrock.
This is in the form of the ‘Vibrant Visuals’ upgrade pack, a custom-developed shader pack for the Bedrock (and similar) editions of Minecraft. The effect is quite transformative, but shouldn’t be confused with a mod – this is an in-game setting.
More on these Vibrant Visuals shaders, and how to use them in Bedrock below.
How to enable the Vibrant Visuals shaders in Minecraft Bedrock

Here are all the steps you need to follow to enable the Vibrant Visuals on Minecraft Bedrock:
- Launch the Minecraft beta.
- Enter the Bedrock edition of the game and wait for it to load the menu.
- Make sure to create a new world before proceeding further – there is no way to import these shaders into your current save.
- Within the ‘Create New World’ screen, head on over to the ‘Experiment’ section right below.
- Enable the ‘Vibrant Visuals’ toggle within this section, present in the ‘Graphics’ subsection.
That about wraps it up. Players can now enjoy the Vibrant Visuals shader pack on the new save. Again, keep in mind that these shaders are only accessible in a new world.
Keep in mind that the Vibrant Visuals shaders can negatively affect your performance. Try lowering the visual effects under the graphical settings menu for a smoother experience.
Additionally, this feature is technically not available for all users. To access the shaders, you will have to take part in the 1.21.80.25 preview beta (or higher). The shaders are expected to make their way over to the stable version of the game later, at a yet unannounced date.
