Best Mecha Break ROG Ally settings

Mecha Break is the newest ARPG from Amazing Seasun Games, and features a vast array of pilotable mechs to customize and deploy during battles. The game has rather modest system requirements, making it quite ideal for low-end PC hardware – such as handheld gaming PCs.

Mecha Break can run on the ROG Ally and ROG Ally X with relative ease, but when taking battery life into consideration, certain sacrifices must be made, which will be discussed below.

Optimized Mecha Break ROG Ally settings

A mostly Low preset will be taken into consideration for Mecha Break on the ROG Ally, with certain adjustments to resolution, TDP and image quality in order to ensure a minimum 60 frames per second target:

ROG Ally specific settings

  • Operating Mode: Performance (15 W)
  • Control Mode: Gamepad
  • AMD RSR: Off
  • CPU Boost: Disabled
  • Resolution: Keep this unchanged
  • AMD RIS: On
  • FPS Limiter: Disabled to take advantage of VRR
  • AFMF Frame Generation: Enabled
  • Recommended VRAM: 5-6 GB

While AFMF frame generation is available on the Ally, it is generally recommended to use it on games that hit an average 60 frames per second at the minimum – in order to avoid image artifacting. As such, it can be safely toggled on in Mecha Break.

Increasing TDP will boost FPS, at the cost of battery life.

Additionally, this guide is also applicable for the ROG Ally X, which may see a slight increase in overall performance (thanks to the speedier RAM).
