Secret Investigation is a very unique side quest that you will come across in Wuthering Waves. Instead of straight up solving a puzzle or beating on Tacet Discords, the Rover will be tasked to disguise themselves as an Exile and infiltrate their camp.
Qianshan gives you the quest, and it does take a while to complete. However, there are a fair bit of rewards to be had, and completing the Secret Investigation will net you a lot of Union EXP, Astrite, and Shell Credits.
Hence, if you want to take a break from exploration and combat, try out this side mission if you have it available.
How to start the Secret Investigation in Wuthering Waves
Make your way to the Resonance Beacon which is right before Deerslumber. If you do not have it unlocked you can just run straight southwest of Jinzhou.
Once you near the map marker you will notice a tent there. Head inside it to find Qianshan and interact with him to start the quest.
How to complete Secret Investigation in Wuthering Waves
Here are a few things you will need to do in order to complete Secret Investigation in Wuthering Waves:
Step 1: Collect the Exile apparel and wait till “tomorrow at 21:00”
You will not be able to start th quest as soon as you get a hold of your disguise. So when you do get your Exiles’ top and Exiles’ bottom you will need to change the in-game time to 21:00 the next day.
You can do this by opening the pause menu and clicking on the clock icon located on the bottom right. A tab will open up, select tomorrow, and then set the time to 21:00. Now hit “Confirm” and and exit the pause menu.
Step 2: Infiltrate the camp and speak with the guards
Make your way into the camp but make sure that you are sticking to the path on the left. Avoid unnecessary interaction and if you see dogs up ahead wait for them to cross before progressing. This is because dogs will be able to see through your disguise.
You can also use the grass plains around you if you are not confident on the path. As you make your way in, you will eventually come across a barrier. Speak to the guards there to complete the first objective.
Step 3: Reach the upper level of the camp
For the next part of the Secret Investigation in Wuthering Waves, you will need to head back out to where the paths are diverging. This time take the route on the right, but make sure to hug the wall.
You will need to avoid a dog’s attention to make your way right near the shore. Sneak past it till you find another gerd dog on patrol. Wai for it to cross and then head up the stairs to reach an elevator.
Step 4: Investigate the info on the terminal
Take the elevator up and then go up the stairs to find an Exile in front of a terminal. You will be asked a series of question, you will need to pick the following options to answer them correctly:
- Fu’Ze just said he needed your help with something.
- (Wait for Qianshan’s response)
- Both of us are not fans of hot food.
This will make the Exile go away and you can examine the Terminal located in the upper level of the camp. Now make your way back to the lower level to investigate the barrier.
Someone might stop you and ask you a question, just answer them with the following option:
- I’m Qiao Yang
Finally, head to a house that’s cylindrical in shape. This will lead to a cutscene followed by a fight with some Exiles.
Rewards for completing the Secret Investigation in Wuthering Waves
Once you have dealt with the reinforcements, report back to Qianshan. Exhaust his dialogues and you will get your hands on the following rewards:
- 500x Union EXP
- 40 Astrite
- 2x Advanced Resonance Potion
- 1x Advanced Sealed Tube
- 24,000 x Shell Credits
