The beloved Shin Megami Tensei 5 returns in the form of Vengeance, an enhanced port for the PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. As is with every modern-day PC port, SMTV Vengeance presents a healthy selection of configurable settings that can be tweaked to ensure better gameplay, visuals, and frame rates.
A list of the best Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance PC settings can be found detailed below. Keep in mind that some of these settings (such as the in-game resolution) will need to be adjusted as per your system hardware.
Optimized Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance PC settings

For the most part, SMTV Vengeance runs rather well on a wide variety of PC hardware, and scales well to lower-end components. This shouldn’t be too surprising, given the game’s origin as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
The Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance PC settings can be accessed by selecting Options under the main menu. From here, select the Graphics sub-menu using the Q and E buttons (PC). Adjust the settings as follows:
- Screen Brightness: Keep this at a value lower than 50%, for increased contrast.
- Field Brightness: keep this at its default value of 50%.
- Ambient Occlusion: Disabling AO does not seem to negatively affect performance by a huge margin, so it is best to keep it enabled.
- Motion Blur: Has little to no effect on performance. It is best to keep this option disabled to avoid a blurry image.
- Anti-Aliasing: It is recommended to keep this setting enabled.
- Monitor Display: Can be used to select the monitor onto which you wish to render the game.
- Screen Mode: Choose between Fullscreen/Windowed/Borderless. Fullscreen mode is usually the preferred choice.
- Resolution: Allows you to choose your in-game resolution. Do note that the game seems to lack any options for FSR/DLSS/XeSS upscaling – and as such, in-game text will not be upscaled when selecting lower resolutions.
- Vertical Sync: Highly recommended to keep disabled for better performance.
- Frame Rate Limit: Choose between 30/60/90/120/144 FPS frame rate limiters. Alternatively, it is also possible to entirely uncap the game’s frame rate. Adjust as per your monitor’s maximum refresh rate.
Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance’s PC settings are rather anemic, and do not offer fine, granular control over visuals. The lack of upscalers such as DLSS and FSR is quite disappointing to see, which might force players to use alternatives such as Lossless Scaling.
