Which difficulty setting should you pick in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered?

The difficulty you pick will depend on how experienced you are with the Elder Scrolls games. If you are new to this type of CRPG, then it’s best that you go for Novice or Apprentice difficulty before you start getting the hang of its various combat mechanics.

For those who are familiar with Elder Scrolls, especially Skyrim, can go for Adept. This is the default difficulty, and we will recommend it the most as enemies are fairly tanky in the early portions of the game. Once you start to one-shot most mobs, you can tone the difficulty up.

If you are looking for a bit of challenge, Expert will be a good pick, but you will struggle early on, especially when trying to take out the Goblins in the very first section of your escape from the dungeons.

Master difficulty is a very brutal experience. You will get one-shot by most rats in the starting section, and this type of playstyle needs the utmost caution and strategic approach to fight. You will be “save-scumming” quite a bit in this difficulty setting.

Can you change the difficulty at any time in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered?

If you cannot settle on a difficulty setting for Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered, you can tweak and change it whenever you want. So you can go back and forth till you decide on a setting that allows you to have a better time with progression.
