The Skeleton Key is the key to every single lock in the world and is locked behind a quest in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered.
Unlike Skyrim, where returning the key was the expected outcome of the quest it was tied to, it’s completely different in Oblivion.
In fact, the quest itself isn’t too tedious either, and it’s rather easy to get your hands on this item, especially if you know where to look for it. You can choose to use console commands too, but that might cause the game to crash.
How to get the Skeleton Key in Oblivion Remastered
The Skeleton Key in Oblivion Remastered is locked behind the Noctornal questline. While this questline won’t activate unless you’ve reached Nocturnal’s shrine, you’ll still have to be atleast Level 10 to make progress.
Assuming you’ve hit the required level, head to the road north of Leyawiin, and interact with Nocturnal’s shrine. When you do so, you’ll hear the voice of the Daedric Prince, you’ll instruct you to locate an object called the Eye of Nocturnal.
Where to find the Eye of Nocturnal in Oblivion Remastered
To find the Eye of Nocturnal, you’ll need to make your way to Leyawiin. Right in the middle of the town is Weeb-Na’s house.
He’s an Argonian and can be found talking to someone called Bejeen. Eavesdropping on these two individuals will update the quest marker and send you towards Tidewater Cave, in pursuit of the Eye of Nocturnal in Oblivion Remastered.
It’s worth noting that you’ll need to be in stealth to eavesdrop on them successfully. In case you’re spotted, make your way out of the house and wait for a few hours and attempt again.
Tidewater Cave location
Tidewater Cave is located towards the South of Leyawiin, right above Topol Bay. Once you’re inside this cave, you will end up facing a Troll and a Direwolf.
While defeating them isn’t mandatory, you should, for easier exploration. Most of the cave is water logged, but there are a few areas where you can dive into the water. In one of these areas, you’ll find the Eye of Nocturnal.
After you’ve retrieved the eye, head back to the Nocturnal’s Shrine in Oblivion Remastered and turn in the Eye to collect the Skeleton Key.
