Fortnite Galactic Battle would never be a Star Wars celebration if Epic Games didn’t add Lightsabers to the mix.
The Lightsabers that are available in the game this time cannot be collected as floor loot. Instead, you’ll either have train with different holograms or your can loot them off fallen enemies.
They also come with some special abilities, which makes the Lightsaber a desirable weapon in Fortnite Galactic Battle.
How to get Lightsabers in Fortnite Galactic Battle
For now, you’ll only be able to collect three Lightsabers on the island:
- Blue Lightsaber
- Red Lightsaber
- Darth Vader’s Lightsaber
Blue Lightsaber
You need to train with Rey holograms at rebel outpost and at the Resistance Base to get your hands on the Blue Lightsaber.
After training with the hologram, you’ll receive the Blue Lightsaber, and you’ll learn the Force Push ability. This will let you push enemies back, helping you create more distance between you and the enemy.
Red Lightsaber
While exploring the Imperial outposts or the First Order base, you’ll come across Emperor Palpatine holograms.
Train with this hologram to pick up the Red Lightsaber and the Force Lightning ability. This lets you shoot electricity from your fingers, damaging the enemy.
Darth Vader’s Lightsaber
To pick up Darth Vader’s Lightsaber, you’ll have to land at Shogun’s Solitude, which is in the southwestern edge of the map.
Here’ you’ll have to defeat hostile samurais before you can pick a fight with Darth Vader himself. If you defeat him, you’ll get the his Red Lightsaber, which will also give you the Force Throw ability. You can throw your Lightsaber in an arc like a boomerang with this ability equipped.
For now, these are the only Lightsabers available in Fortnite Galactic Battle. On May 8, you’ll find Mace Windu and Darth Maul holograms on the island too. They come with fresh Lightsabers and Force abilities that’ll help you side with either the Dark side or the Light side.
Can You Pick Up Lightsaber Abilities in Fortnite Galactic Battle?
No, you cannot pick up Lightsaber abilities in Fortnite Galactic Battle. You can always loot them from the bodies of your fallen enemies.
However, if you don’t train with any of the holograms on the map, or if you don’t defeat Darth Vader Samurai, you will not be able to access any of the Force abilities at all.
